Members of Apple’s public software testing program can now download the second public beta of iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, and macOS 12.4.

Apple seeded the second developer betas on Tuesday, and the second public betas should be essentially the same. The builds are available for download from the Apple Beta Software Program’s website.

Although no official features for iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, or macOS Monterey 12.4 have been announced, several code modifications have been uncovered. With WWDC approaching, Apple is likely to focus on minor updates and bug fixes.

The new “Apple Classical” app was mentioned a few times, implying that it will be released shortly. Wi-Fi signal indications in the Home app while managing a HomePod, as well as Request and Send buttons in Wallet for Apple Pay Cash, are all known changes.

Universal Control requires both an iPad and a Mac to be updated to the new betas in order to work, according to the release notes. A Mac running macOS 12.4 for example, will be unable to connect to an iPad running iPadOS 12.4.

Users are strongly advised not to install the betas on “mission-critical” or primary devices, According to Apple itself, because there is a distant risk of data loss or other concerns. Instead, testers should install betas on non-essential or secondary devices and make adequate backups of crucial data before updating.
