You’re exercising and listening to music or a podcast on your AirPods, Apple Watch, or iPhone, but the sound keeps pausing for no apparent reason. This was also a difficulty for me.
I was quite irritated to be stopped, as it ruined the overall workout experience. This may occur every kilometer or mile, depending on how frequently you receive notifications. This issue may also arise when you stream or listen to music or publications that you have downloaded.
If the sound continues to pause for you, this post will walk you through the procedures necessary to try the issue.
Update your iPhone, Watch
Update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest iOS and watchOS versions. Navigate to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone. You can use your iPhone or watch on your watch.
To upgrade your watch software, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update. Alternatively, you can open your app’s Watch app and navigate to General > Software Update.
If you’re also wearing AirPods or another type of headphone, make sure they’re updated to the newest firmware.
Turn off Voice Feedback
If updating does not resolve the issue, you may wish to disable Voice Feedback. Voice Feedback is an Apple Watch feature that allows you to hear your progress during workouts by receiving audible announcements.
Siri, for example, will read your notice when you close your rings or when you complete another kilometer. This may result in a pause in your music or speakers. Switch this off and then retry. Take the following steps:
- On your iPhone, launch the Watch app.
- My Watch is tapped.
- Locate Workout by scrolling down.
- Scroll down and disable Voice Feedback.
Additionally, this feature can be disabled on your watch. Take the following steps:
- On your Apple Watch, navigate to Settings.
- Tap Exercise.
- Disable Voice Feedback.
