How to Turn Off iPad Notifications Left Behind

Published:

You may be receiving notifications for one or more of your devices that have been left behind. This notification for an iPad is received by many people.

After all, most people carry their iPhones about with them, whereas iPads are frequently forgotten. When you leave your iPad behind, it’s usually on purpose; you may leave it at home when you go out, and you don’t need a notice notifying you where you left it in this situation.

We’ll offer you some information on the left-behind notifications in this article, as well as how to change the settings. You can disable left-behind notifications completely or add trusted, safe areas where you can leave your device without receiving a notification.

The left-behind the notification

When iOS/iPadOS was released in 2021, it contained a new function called Notify When Left Behind. When you get a set distance from one of your other devices, such as an iPad, this function will send a notification to your iPhone (and Apple Watch, if you have one).

If you are using Apple Car Play at the moment you receive the notification, it will also appear there. Find My is where you may change the settings for Notify When Left Behind.

Notify When Left Behind works with the following devices:

  • iPhone running iOS 15 or later
  • iPad running iPadOS 15 or later
  • Mac with Apple Silicon
  • AirPods ProAirPods Max, and AirPods (3rd gen) if you have an iPhone 12 or later
